What is wrong with my calabrese?

Three weeks ago I planted out tenderstem calabrese plugs. They seemed lovely for a while but in the last few days I've noticed that the new growth is distinctly yellow and some of the older leaves are starting to look a bit mottled too.

This is a brand new raised bed filled with a mixture of my own compost, B and Q peat free compost and good old garden dirt. I haven't checked the ph level as I assumed it would be within an acceptable range.

Any ideas what might be wrong with the poor little things? Thanks for any help...

Hi,

I personally wouldn't grow calabrese in a raised bed. Brassicas like the ground to be rock hard, I usually spend half a day stamping the ground before I put brassicas in.

Raised beds are used to provide good drainage and 'light' soil conditions.
