  • Growing rhubarb

    Hi everyone,

I'm wanting to put grow some rhubarb in my garden, and i was wondering if anyone could recommend a good variety.

Ive read that strawberry surprise is a good plant, but Champagne seems to also get a good write up.

I do have the option to get a mixed set of crowns, but I'm not sure how much space rhubarb needs.

    anyone got any advice??

Space, you need to allow a square metre at least per Crown. Varieties, suggest you see what's available as it depends whether you want an early or general purpose variety. Most are very reliable and easy to grow, just follow the instructions or get a crown from a friend.

Im so impatient. i ordered 3 already.

2 Strawberry and a champagne. As for space. From what you said i can probably get all three planted.

I was asking from a taste point of view rather that a growing point of view.
