Banana Shallots Question

I picked up this thread from a Google search for banana shallots or Echalions. I've got some bulbs and wanted to know if they would grow by division or if they only grow from seed?

Hi Jerry,

Quite a few of us on here grew banana shallots last year from seed kindly donated by Pigletwillie. They do only grow from seed, not by division as other shallots do, but if you planted a few of your bulbs and let them flower you could collect the seed to grow more bulbs next year.

I'm hoping to plant some of my saved bulbs this year to give me a good lot of seed fo future years and to share out to others.
