  • Sterilising plastic coated lids?

Do you sterilise your lids? I can't remember if we did in the past, I think we just washed them in hot soapy water and possibly rinsed with boiling water?

I'm about to sterilise my jars in the oven... but can't really seem to get any definitive advice regarding the lids!

I usually put the lids into hot water and give them a good few minutes in the oven to zap any blighters but not long enough to melt......or use milton fluid after a good hot wash...

Thanks, I was thinking that but didn't want to risk melting

I put mine in a pan of boiled water while I'm spooning stuff into jars. No melts yet

I would go for the boiling water method - I don't think you're supposed to use Milton on metal, and these lids only have plastic on the inside.
