  • You have to be joking!!

I rang a friend (who has a chicken farm) and asked if I could have a few speckeldys, "yes" she said "no problem, will 50 be enough".
What am I going to do with 50??

Apparently she has a hatch due (huge incubators) and she can spare (at a cost) that many. Before I say no thanks I wanted to put it on here incase anyone was interested in chicks.

I'm really not trying to look a gift horse in the mouth but I only need a few to join my rabble.

Quite lucky as I am registered with defra even though I don't have 50. They are requesting people volunterily register so that they can keep people informed if there is any outbreaks of potentially fatal diseases in your area and I'm all for that.

Only 17 to the 50 but I honestly think that would be too many here as they'd break my neck trying not to tread on them when trying to get through the yard, it's bad enough now Mind you we do have a holding number in case I do decide on piggies and lambs

Just been talking to my friend and she says she can send Black Rocks in April and Speckledys in May.
I have been talking to a few friends and it looks like most have been reserved/sold, there are still a few if anyone is interested.
For the batch in May I am going to get them as well, so again if anyone is interested just PM me.

I'd love to have some chickens too but have a family of foxes camped out in a derelict garage at the back of the garden and don't fancy openning a fast food outlet for them!

It's the slow chickens that get eaten! (sorry)
