    Well,the Dorking eggs are set.......

    Got my Silver Grey Dorking hatching eggs yesterday and after resting for 24 hours (poor things were tired!) they are now nestled in woodshavings in the bottom of my inccy which is buzzing away merrily!

    Due date is 7th May so wish me luck.....AND I've got a camera now!

    Whilst I'm on the subject, has anyone got a link to the HFW show (You tube?) which did the taste test on the Dorking cross roast chicken?

    Ooh, if they come 2 days early they'll share my birthday

    I remember the show you mean Snadge, he just plain roasted them and then did a taste test? WIth his chicken guru being one of the testers?
    It's lurking in the back of my head that the winner was a Sussex cross, but I might just be making that up...
    I'll have a scout round and see if I can find it/find out.

            Nah..........Dorking cross surely Sarz? I think Sussex and Dorking and quite a few others ARE related somewhere in there heritage though!

                I've got a fancy the Dorking is crossed with a L/F Indian game bird to give a tasty meat hybrid specimen.......... but I may be wrong?

                  Couldn't find the segment on YouTube, and I can't even remember which series it was in Was it the second one? I wonder what the others were in the test?

                  So will it be Indian Game eggs in the incubator next Snadger?

                      You're going to make us be on tenterhooks again aren't you! You bad lad!!! Mind you, I did go to a poultry auction this evening and was sorely tempted, but my excuse for not buying any eggs was that I'm away this weekend and going to Spain for a few days next month. BUT THERE'S ANOTHER ONE IN JUNE

                        Going to my first ever poultry auction on Saturday at Hexham so God knows what I return with!
                        I'll have to try and keep my hands in my pockets though as i'm quickly running out of space for veggies at the allotment!
