Hello, just a quick query - does this forum accept 'ads' for selling chicks/hens? I may have a few banties for sale in a couple of months. I'm in North Lancs.

you could try specially designed sites for such things -

You can also check your local area for weekly poultry auctions or post adverts in local livestock food suppliers, some of them have notice boards for this.Comment

just a reminder for you all (after a gentle wrist slapping from Animal Health) to sell poultry as pets you DO NOT NEED a pet licence to sell live poultry, contrary to some local authorities statements, however, you do need to comply to the General Licence Conditions, set out in the animal welfare act. these are "oh so hard" to comply with
you must keep a record of what birds you buy in, and to whom (including address) that you sell them on to. thats it! so as long as you record whether you bought in a bird, or bred it yourself, and to whom you sold it to and record their address then you have complied!
I figure i can do that rather than fork out a hefty wedge for a pet licence!!Comment
