  • Nesting Box Question

Now i have one girl laying, does my cleaning of the nest boxes need to change?

As a general rule i clean the house once a week and use fresh aubiose throughout, with straw in each box. Will a clean box bother her, or put her off?

    Thanks
    Dale

If she needs to lay an egg, she'll lay her egg whether the nest box is clean or dirty. It's best to remove any droppings from the box to keep the eggs clean, but apart from that, just carry on as before
My girls found their way into my heart and now they nest there

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
