  • A Miracle!

    The eggs are hatching even after the powercut and temperature drop to below 12C I have 4 chicks hatched this pm and another 5 or 6 eggs pipped so far!!!!!!! Photos tomorrow....... (a day early too!)

            Sorry the pics are limited at the mo, am a bit fuzzy as I went to bed at 4am and got up to check them at 6 and 8 and OH thinks a lie-in for me consists of him talking to me 'til I give up and get up then say 'Oh! You don't have to get up yet..' hmph!

            Anyway babies are just so great after all that worry with the incubator I have 11 so far this morning with another 4 pipped....

                        The Stripey ones are OH's dorkings, the gingery scruffs are orps and the 4 bright yellow ones are homebred marans out of Wheaton hens yes the dark eggs are out of my girls, the orps are a freinds and the Dorkings were from ebay (and all 6 have pipped!) and they have the requisite 5 toes!
