Default Help! How to find egg laying ducks in France

We were considering getting a handful of ducks to raise for eggs not meat but have been told that in this part of France no-one eats duck eggs so one cannot buy egg laying varieties ...only ducks for meat which is a local dish - confit de canard, magret de canard etc etc......
does anyone know of anywhere in sw france where i could get some egg layers?

You could try scouring the Telephone Directory for an Elevage (hope Iv'e spelt that right) and talk to them. They might be able to help.
