  • Hatching day 16!!

    Ok...... errr............ is this normal......????

We have a Hubbard hatching now, day 19, the others in the inccy have not even pipped yet!!

I just walked past the inccy and heard a cheaping, thought I was going slightly crazy

They are not due until Friday afternoon!!

Does this mean the other Hubbards might not hatch or is it just a forward little so 'n' so!

    EDIT!!!!!!

    It has now hatched!!!!

Can't help on either count! Only Mods can change titles, I think.

As for the Chick, well, they always say Babies come when they're ready LOL

Well Munch thats at least one roast dinner for you!
Personally I'll be thankful if my Hubbards hatch at all after the last lot! Think I might have 3 developing and one other has a funny sort of pock marked shell when candled so I think thats a dud too!

            Sue,

I have read somewhere that the speckled shell means it is very porous so open to failure but it dosnt mean it wont hatch, just its chances may be slimmer, I have had one hatch like it!

I think I have had one hatch too Munch.
Minnie Silkie still sitting tight this morning on her 3 eggs so I'll give her another 2 days and take the rest up maybe tomorrow night. In view of your experience I'd better not leave it too long!

We now have 3, 2 Orpingtons hatch last night, one Orpington has pipped, bit worried about the other 3 Hubbards..... at the moment it is turning out to be a very expensive roast dinner!!
