Hi all
i'm chuffed Went to get some eggs today from a industrial freerange farm. Got chatting to the lady and it turns out they too have to get rid of hens at 72 weeks ,Cut a long story short I got me 2 of the older ones that would of been killed sooner then later . They are really healthy happy ladys .
Got homr ;10min later I get a call from a really nice lady from Bhwt and ended up ordering 3 ex bats on the 19th july . Anyway heres a picy :P

Why do they have to get rid of them at 72 weeks????

'They' don't *have* to - just at 72 weeks the rate of egg laying will start to drop and the hens are no longer comercially viable.
