  • Foxes in London and kent

    Does anyone know the answer to this question;

    Is there a way of finding out where the biggest populations of foxes are in london or kent?

    Thanks

        We got our first Chickens on Sunday (last) and on the monday Someone where my wife works had told here our area had more foxes than anywhere else in Greater London (Kent Border, Bromley)

        How do people come up with this sort of thing or is it just scare mongering?

        On a search on Google I was told areas like Richmond, Sutton and Edmonton are worst not Bromley.

        Anyone know?

          I don't know, and I don't know if there even is a fox census.
          You've got your chickens, you've got to make them fox-proof. It only takes one fox to slaughter all your birds, so it doesn't matter if you've got 6 foxes in your area or 60.

            Thats how I look at it and I am sure people are just scare mongering.

            Have made the Coop very secure so secure it's kind of become a joke amongst friends as it appears to be more secure than a Prison but then to us it's peace of mind making it as secure as possible.

              OH has just got in from a days pigeon decoying. He had a good day out (47) but the good news is there is one less foxes in Kent this evening. Apparently one just collapsed in front of him as he walked back to the car.

                I think each fox has it's own territory. Even if you manage to get rid of the one in your area, another one will take over the patch, so you need to make your coop and run fox proof. As Two Sheds says, you only need one. Unfortunately if they get into your chcikens they don't just kill one either.

                  The fox only needs to get lucky once - you need to be lucky ALL the time.
