Dubious Dorris ?

Morning all.....
My Friend has a brown 'hen' called Dorris, her breading is of dubious parentage!

Dorris has been with my friend for two years in June -
Dorris looks like a hen but.....
Dorris has never laid an egg -
Dorris has now started to crow in the mornings!

Can anyone shed any light please -

PS - I once had a hen that laid and crowed!

We had a hen who crowed and laid eggs too

I read somewhere that if an ovary is damaged a Hen can change sex. May not be able to reproduce, but may start to crow. Funny things hormones!
