    pingus latest offering had 2 yolks granted they were both smaller than a 10p lol ... but twas very yum

    OK now I'm jealous. Over the last year my girls have laid some woppers, lots over 100gms but I've never had a double yolker.

        the whole egg was only 70 grammes as well lol ... was ever so shocked, but she didn't lay for 48 hours after the bloody yolk so maybe she was making up for it .... she's such a little sweetie

          Double yolks like the bloody yolk are useually produced by young hens when they first start to lay, it's just the reporductive system getting itself in order. Normally everthing will settle down in a week or so and she will give you one good one yolk egg per day until the days start to shorten then her production will slow down unless you provide light to make her day longer. The system only works when she is up and active. So in the winter months she might only give you an egg every other day.

            yeah, she hadn't laid for about 48 hours .... but it was very cute ... i'd be happy if i never got another egg off them in reality ... they my babies .... they don't need to lay eggs

            now the next hatchings better lay me some lol

                  When I had Lavender, she laid me a few double-yolkers. She's the one who gave me my biggest (107g) egg too

                    Never had a double yolker so more the colour than the smile lol and Hayley you've counted every egg ever laid? That's a fair few!
