  • Crested Polish does anyone else keep them?

    Hi all

I have a white crested polish named Dolly who is as 'Mad as a Hatter' I understand that they have limited vision due to the feathers and that these can be trimmed, but she is hyper all the time prancing about up and down and in and out the hen house. Anyone else have this behaviour?

Just to add, she is quite tame now but only with me, anyone else and she freaks!

I bought a couple of chamois frizzle polish bantams a couple of years ago, and they were nutters. With time I may have tamed them a little, but sadly Mr Fox had them and my lavender araucana. Was gutted, they were pretty little things - OH called them 'The Poncey Birds'

I used to have a trio of white-crested black Polish years ago, absolute nutcases. They would roost on the roof of the barn, or at the top of the willow tree, even in freezing weather. Good layers, though not reliable about going in the nestbox to lay.

I keep polish and they are funny things, one of my boys without fail every morning holds onto the bottom of trousers and try bulling me arounf with him. I just laugh and shoe him away! I think they are my fav breed
