  • Broody chook nearing time

    Hi
I have had a quick look through the posts and am sure I saw on here that when it is getting near the hatching time the hen should not be disturbed. We have been lifting our orp religiously ebery afternoon to eat, drink, poo and dust bath she then hurtles back into her eggs. We beleive we have 3 chicks(have candled them and there are signs of life) so do not want to risk upsetting her or the eggs.any help or pointers grateful
    thanks

I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
