How old is she now ....2 days??? Has she ever opened them??

I'm just wondering if she's eaten or drank anything yet??? They can cope for up to 2 days ( I think) and then get very weak and sleepy before dying.
If that might be the problem, dip her beak in the water lots of time and make sure you see her swallow. Then try a bit of scrambled egg - just cooked so it's very sloppy so she 'drinks' it- stick it on your finger and smear it over her beak.
(Mind you don't get water or food in her nostrils!)
If she still doesn't eat carefully open her beak and put a tiny amount in her mouth.

If she is eating and drinking then please feel free to ignore the ramblings of a fellow Grape!!!!

Hope she picks up- if she really is blind then it'd be kinder to let her die.

Just tryed to feed her but gave up im abit heavy handed so not going to force her little mouth open Still As i was trying i opened her eye lids again! for a closer look and if by magic they stayed open and the little chick shot to life now shes looking around, sparing with the others as if it was I just taken one out of the incubator into the hatchery for the 1st time . She just feed too and decided not to move and sleep in the food tray

dont think shes out of the woods yet as her eyes and closed again still that food should give her move time/energy to help her eye lids develope more

I did see/read your blog and thought the same thing . They are araucanas. 3 more have piped 1 will be out in the new few hours il; see what color they are. Araucana I guess then if they look like yours they could mature red and the one with the eye problem black. cant wait to see what the copper black maran looks like.

It's sad when they die- 2 of mine died from cold-and one was squashed by mum between the other eggs!
And one couldn't peck it's way out of its shell and suffocated.
So 4 dead chicks, 3 still going strong ,2 fertilised but got cold and 4 sterile eggs ( I've got 2 cockerels and 4 gals..you'd have thought they'd all be fertile wouldn't you?)

So it looks like your success rate is better than mine!!!...and mine had their mums and dads to hand too!....and a paranoid step mum!!!!

Don't let it put you off though. Bet yours look really sweet now they've got little fluffy tails!!!!!

Sadly I lost about 3 that didnt make it out of the eggs and 2 that must of died about 15 days into incubation the rest of the eggs never got started. So didnt do that great out of 18 eggs and about £20 pound later lol.
I did get given 6 free marans for the 6 that never hatched
