    Will my seedlings survive a nibble from Mr/Mrs Mouse?

    Afternoon all,

    Checked some of my sunflower seedlings and the mouse has struck and has nibbled off the tops of quite a lot of the seedlings. I pulled a few up and they have long central roots and I was thinking of replacing the seedlings but was wondering if they have a chance of recovering?

    Also, are there any vegetable seedlings particularly vulnerable to a nibble from the mouse?

    Hard to say without a piccie....it's always worth planting a few more though

    My field mice always seem to tuck into my peas- even before the pheasant have a chance to get to them

      If the growing point and leaves have been eaten and you're left with a bare stem then the plants won't recover.

      Are you sure it's mouse damage? They usually go for the seeds, not the greenery.

        I'd say that usually it's slugs/snails that have done it ~ and you won't always see a slime trail

          Evening,

          Im sure its a mouse - it has left droppings in one area on the seed tray. I've put the propogator lid on and will do so during the evening as thats when the little critter has a midnight snack!
