    Here are a few links which may be useful to new vegetable gardeners (and maybe the not so new gardeners too)

    These links will hopefully complement the information you gain from the Grow your Own Forum

    These links are not part of the Grow Your Own site but are purely my recomendations,

    Glossary of vegetable gardening terms

    This will explain some of the terms and phrases used in gardening

    Gardening Growing Cards

    From this link you can download Gardening Growing Cards, very useful if you are new to gardening

    Vegetable Growing Advice

    This link gives you information on most crops it also can be personalised to your postcode giving you the aproximate first and last frosts dates of the year where you live

    Know your Soil

    This is good guide on identifying your soil type and even identifys what plants are suitable for the different types of earth

    Thining Out And Replanting Seedlings

    This include advice on thining Out seeds from modules video guide complete with notes

    Companion planting

    This link is a good guide to what plants complement each other and which plant combinations should be avoided

    Crop Rotation

    This Link give you information about crop rotation

    Seed Viability

    This link shows you how long seeds stay viable

    Pot Sizes

    This Link lets you know how much soil fits in different pots sizes this is especally useful if you are using containers to grow vegetables

    BBC Gardening
    This link is to the BBC gardening page, this has good advice on plants, pests and diseases

    BBC Gardening Guides
    Useful guides including gardening with children and advice from profesional gardeners

    BBC Dig in
    BBC's website to support their Dig In campaign

    Growing Vegetables, Herbs and Annual Flowers in Containers

    Container Vegetable Gardening

    These links are a couple of useful container gardening guides giving advice on things such as the specific size containers needed for different crops

    Square foot gardening

    A useful guide to square foot gardening including a guide on the numbers of vegetables to plant per sq ft

    Allotment Gardening

    Growing Vegetables on an Allotment a very good guide from an allotment grower from Leeds

    Gardening weather Forcast

    This forecast is updated every Sunday afternoon and highlights points of interest to gardeners for the next few days.

    Freecycle

    Freecycle groups match people who have things they want to get rid of with people who can use them.

    Once you have grown your veg you might want to know what to do with them

    Vegbox-Recipes

    A recipe guide for cooking all the vegetable you are growing
