  • Tomorrow's tea or suicide mission?

It's really just idle curiosity as I don't really have any intention of eating these, but I just wondered whether anyone could hazard a guess as to what they are....

    Thanks

Look a bit like shitaki mushrooms to me but unless you can find someone to confidently identify them, I wouldn't risk it!

In my humble opinion..don't eat what you can't be 100% sure of!

Over here we could pick that and take it to a local chemist and ask if it's edible!!...brill or what????

That does look very like it. So I could eat it once before I develop an allergic reaction that will kill me next time I eat it?

JOKING I'll not be doing a thing with it, unless anyone advises disposing of it (we have no young children to worry about) I'll just leave it there. I quite like the look of it.

              Thanks everyone

If you didn't plant it, don't eat it............

I'll happily forage for fruit and mushrooms and am always trying to expand my knowledge base on this so don't agree that you have to ignore nature's larder.

However, if you're not sure then obviously don't and don't take advice from people who have only seen a photo, there are a lot of thing you can't pick up and loads of visual and texture tests you can do to confirm a mushroom is the type you think from just looking at the thing, viewing the gill arrangments, print tests etc etc. Really interesting when you get into it

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?
