Found this on UKTV food. Would recommend the seiving thing to get rid of sloe stones:

2.5kg sloe's
2kg granulated sugar
500g golden delicious apples

Place the sloes in the deep freeze until fully frozen. This is too soften the harsh flavour that some sloes have.
Place the sloes in a bowl of hot water and leave over night.
wash and grate the apples into a large saucepan, add the sloes and cook until soft .
Add the sugar and cook until reduced by a quater to concentrate the flavours.
Taste for sweetness.
For a smooth jam pass through a sieve using a wooden spoon.
Jar up and seal well.

I haven't tried making this but thought it might make a change from wine or gin for you.

Sloe jelly (or sloe and apple jelly) is a standard one to eat with meat or cheese. Good with roast beef.

It won't use up many sloes, and it won't win you any friends, but I like to feed the raw sloes to unsuspecting friends/colleagues who have not encountered them before, telling them they're a bit like tiny plums You can only do it once though...

I had a munch on a few the other day that were really ripe and they weren't too bad!

In a good year they can be just about edible. Not nice though, just edible! They still give you that 'hairy teeth' feeling I find.
