  • seed potato

    Hi all
This may sound a daft question to you but what makes a seed potato?
is it just a normal potato or is it especially grown?

    thanks

Any potato will, if planted, grow and form a new potato plant.

You can save some of your potatoes from this year's crop to plant next year, or you can grow potatoes that you have bought in the supermarket for eating.

What is "special" about seed potatoes sold as such is that they are grown under special conditions and usually certified as virus free.
