  • Peat Pots

OK, made a newbie mistake tried to be cleaver and grow seeds in peat pots in a heated propagator.

Well all I can say is fungus and mould was the quickest things to grow!! In 3 days!!!

Lesson learnt I have now reverted back to seed trays and small pots!!

Just thought I would share my mistake to prevent other people from doing the same.

    Hi
I use peat pots and always get a bit of mould on mine but it doesn't seem to harm the seedlings or affect germination.

I like to use paper pots but have used peat pots in the past. Mould not uncommon but never a real problem.
A good beginning is half the work.

interesting......never had a prob with mould on peat pots - did find they made my carrots have curly pig tail ends on them!!! Roots don't quite break through them like they should.

Used loo & kitchen roll tubes before - what a slimy mouldy mess - yuk! Put me right off! Not tried paper pots - not got round to making them....
