| We took on our allotment in Loughborough last Autumn and have really enjoyed it. Here (I hope) are some photos The first picture shows it last year after we pulled the derelict shed down. Him outside had to get the footings ready for the new shed (yes, brand new thanks to an inheritance). The second picture is what it looked like last weekend. Nearly ready for spring. I'm having problems downloading others but will keep trying.

| Him outside is very gratified for the approval. I'm trying to get him interested in this community, but if he did I suppose we'd fight over computer time

| No need to fight MB, just let him on occassionally, like I do with Mr D!

| Looks great, well done. I'm just starting out as well. Are you planning to leave grass as your paths- will that be okay? I was planning on putting boards up to divide my beds from the grass- unnecessary? You have been digging plenty. I have three more beds to do when the weather permits (ormaybe I should just wrap up and get on) |

I can't take any credit as it's all up to Mr B. Last year when I got the allotment (and it is in my name!) Himself was having a bad time at work and was just not interested so I started on my own, didn't do enough over the winter, and just planted about a one bed. We did have crops though, so not too bad, but it needed energy I hadn't got and the rest started to get a bit out of control. After his job ended Mr B took part and actually has now taken over. If it was my garden there would be a lot more growing there - like flowers for instance (but I'm working on that for next year) Mr B likes things neat and tidy and will keep the grass paths down just using shears (because he's got some time). We may (or may not) board the beds, just try to keep them 'lifted' away from the paths, but we too are learning as we go. From what I am told the secret is to keep things growing to keep the weeds down. Unfortunately Mr B goes round pulling everything out as soon as he can! We will see how things develop and will keep you all posted.
