  • My usual daft question

My courgettes are nearly ready for me to pop into the pots that they're going to stay in so my question is:

The soil that I put in the pots can I use multipurpose compost? Or should I use something different?

    Thanks

I use multi purpose compost for potting on - it's simple to use and I reckon they get a stone-less and hopefully weed-less start. However, I'm one of the try-it-out brigade, there would be people on this site far more knowledgeable than me.

I guess you'll get more advice - I'm interested in what others do.

Multi purpose is fine, if you have any of those Slow release fertilizer granules then they will appreciate that as well.

No problem if not, use tomato feed for them.

      Courgettes are hungry plants.

As a rule fruiting plants need feed in order to produce better quality fruits.
