    My tattie selection

    Its cold, wet and foggy so I went online and ordered my spuds
    Its my first year of growing, I only started veg this summer and I have a small veg plot, (at the moment).
    T&M sell different varieties 5 tubers at a time so I went for an assortment. Its a pricey way of doing it but i really dont have space for loads and local GC doesnt do pick and mix

    I have ordered:
    Mayan twighlight - I liked the colour!
    Charlotte - nice all rounder?
    Vivaldi - all rounder
    anya - nice for salads?

    What do you guys reckon?
    I am aware it will be trial and error, just telling you lot cos my families eyes go glassy when I tell them

    Can only vouch for Charlotte. Grew them for the last 2 years and they are delicious. I grew in compost bags and got a good yield. This will be my first year growing on allotment. Have ordered far too many so will probably end up giving some away but I always did learn the hard way. My OH really tries to look interested when I talk " Lotties" and even asks the odd question, but the other night I was rattling on and when I looked he had fallen asleep!!
    Let us know how your spuds do, always a chance of ordering more next year!

      Only growing three this year (up til now that is!)

        Definitely growing Kestrel and Desiree again this year, we got more from those 2 than the other 6 varieties put together - very little slug damage and good sized tubers - and make a crispy roastie potato if I do say so.

        I will also grow random potato plants from the sprouts from peelings, once we start having to buy potatoes again...and one early which I haven't made my mind up about.

        Going to potato day at Ryton in Jan, so will pick some others up there as well.

          Ooooops!.............forgot about my real seed experiment from my own 'tattie apples'..........seeds in an evvelope in bookcase............I'll try setting some away in Feb and see how it goes!
