I've been replacing the mulch on a few pots today, and discovered that the remains of last year's bag of bark chippings looked like they're going mouldy with some sort of fungus, so I guess they're not suitable. (can they go on the compost heap?)
I had just cut the conifer hedge at the bottom of the garden, so made an inch thick layer of clippings on the rose bush and white and redcurrents. I was about to start on the blueberry bushes, but then thought I'd better check - are the clippings acidic, alkali or what? Will they be OK to go on top of the ericacous compost?
