What a marvelous afternoon here in Northern France, and I believe it is the same throughout the UK. I have been learning from the roots up how to grow veg and am now in my 5th year. I have so much to learn! So far this season I have had great success but now am facing the challenge of replanting for autumn and winter harvesting. I will be asking help on this in the apropriate forum just as soon as I have found my way round the site. I tried on my iPad but frankly have given up. Much easier on the computer. Thank you rustylady for you help in this respect.

Hello and welcome to the Vine from another "Frenchie" It has been a wonderful year for veg growing (after a very shaky start) I'm very interested to hear about your turnips, I must try them myself - great for putting in a pot au feu too.
Sorry to hear that you aren't getting on too well with the new app, I find it really good. If you have any specific problems, post on here and we'll try and help.

            Salut from the bottom end!
Lovely down here, too, if you like overcast and 32 degrees at 8.30 in the evening, but lovely storms in the mountains.

                      Welcome from the Southern Nutter!

I really just hang out here so I can imagine you all warm in July, and hear about that wet stuff called rain that we don't get much of. And because when my plants are in the dolldrums of winter I can imagine that things still grow somewhere .....You'll have lots of fun learning stuff here.

A question I have always meant to ask....do runner beans and all climbing plants that go round and round a support go in the opposite direction to the northern hemisphere?......like water going down the plug hole!!!

I've heard that ballerinas doing pirouettes twirl in the opposite direction too. Ask Feral - she'll tell you
