  • How many trusses

    Hi All
How many trusses do you let grow before pinching out the growing tip of your tomatoes.
Mine are in the Greenhouse, in morrisons buckets.
I have various types from cherry to Beef in size.

Also do you wait for the toms to start growing, so you know how many you will get -- some of mine only have about 6 - 7 flowers on the first truss.

    Hi Mrscorpio

I let mine grow to the wire at least, and some I let cross over, usually stop them september time. so as many as you can get if they are cordon type.
You should get about 8 trusses to the wire, depends how leggy your plants were at the start. There are a few pics on my blog to give you an idea.

As for flowers on the trusses, yours seem fine, not all flowers set, so will just be tiny toms.

      Hi Tomatoking
WOW im used to growing toms outside (GH only built this year). I assume you dont get the issues of the toms failing to ripen if you have too many trusses when they are in the GH.

My toms are all approx 2 feet tall with some on their second and some on the 3rd trusses.
