  • How do seeds for plants which produce sterile seeds exist?

I was looking to get some Oregano 'Country Cream' seeds off the internet and noticed that the plants don't produce seed.

If this is the case, then how can you buy seeds for the plant in the first place?

    Thanks

You don't - you propagate by cuttings.

You can in some instances...it just means that the F1 mix of parents produces children with no seed.

      Or they got it wrong

Or in extreme instances, they have been treated to instigate the Terminator Gene

      Where does it mention this?

I think it's John Connor in the second film!
        Sorry, bad joke.

Try Terminator Gene for a fairly clear statement on its use. Guess who owns it?

It's like with humans: some are born infertile.

Then where would the seeds come from.

No worries, I think the F1 parents explanation sounds about right. Thanks

I think you mean the plants, not the seeds. It's a bit like the chicken and the egg.

Perhaps he means the seeds from the original parents?
