I have a largish tub outside my back door, not deep enough for potatoes so I thought I would sow some salads. I have some Pak choi, Mizuna and Rocket. Do I need to sow them separately or can I mix some seed and thinly sow it?

As they are all Brassicas they can be sown together sucessfully. For cut and come again mixtures I prefer to keep leafy lettuce mixes separate from Brassicas.
By the way IMHO Mizuna is a very underated crop. -

You could put a few beetroot in with them Suky. The leaves are nice to eat - and some radish and you can eat those leaves too.
Shallots, planted shoulder to shoulder and use the green growth for spring onions.
Peas, planted shoulder to shoulder , and cut the green shoots to go in the salad. They taste like fresh peas.

I haven't tried Mizuna... must get some seeds!
You could mix in some Swiss Chard seeds (something like Bright Lights) as the baby leaves are nice for salads.

I mix my own CCA slald mix and it contains Pak Choi, Mizuna, Rocket and Red Russian Kale - though I sow the RRK two days after the rest as it does tend to be quite vigorous and swamps the other leaf veg.Originally posted by Suky View PostRat

I have my own salad mix in a Tupperware box, of various lettuce, chinese greens, mustards etc. Sow quite thickly in a tub on the patio, then just scissor off what you need for dinner.
