  • Is this compost ok?

Bit of a gardening-newbie, so forgive any silly questions
Last summer I threw loads of grass clippings up against a wall. Over time they got quite slimy and are now pretty horrible looking and a bit smelly. Is it ok to use this 'compost' in a new raised bed, or should I just ditch it?

    Many thanks

You could put it at the bottom of a raised bed with soil and compost atop of it.

Otherwise fork it into your existing compost heap and stir it around to break it up. The smell will go when it's aerated. Don't throw it away.
If a thing's worth doing, it's worth doing to excess

don't ditch em, if you haven't got a proper compost heap, (why???) just give them a digging to get some air in and leave them to it, they make lovely compost eventually, oh and wee on them when you've turned em to get them going again

you could also add some shredded or torn up paper which will help
