    Anyone know where I can borrow a strimmer for a day?

    Afternoon all,

    Going to clear the weeds on my new plot and I am in need of a strimmer.

    Trouble is my family or anyone I know has a petrol strimmer.

    Any suggestions as to where I can go to borrow one? I don't want to buy one as I will only be using it once.

    Some allotment associations have tools etc that you can borrow - or any of your plot neighbours? If you have no luck there, you can hire one for about £40 from a plant hire place.

      Ask around, or put up a poster, on your allotment site ~ someone will have one. You might want to offer petrol money

        I use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite,the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
