I have Melons, about the size of guzz gogs, so I doubt we will get anything close to eating size, but another success rather than a failure.

What varieties are you growing?
I've had reasonable success with Arava (MoreVeg), Ogen (Nicky's Nursery) and Emir (D.T. Brown). I know you're all going to say "Yes, but, you live in Spain", but not all melons do well here (short growing season). -
The variety is likely relevant, I would suspect you need "early" ones for where you are as then they get the benefit of all the available sun to develop and ripen. Maybe check the Moreveg Alaska one out. Think I had Minnisota Midget.
Also what did you grow them in? My best (only) ones were in a large pot, 20"+, with something for it to climb up. The stuff in the pot was a 50/50 mix of GP compost and manure. They like rich soils. Seen good one that are sat on the top of a manure pile, no compost/soil just half a ton on manure.
Also they need a decent amount of water, technically about 90% or more of a melon is water.Comment

I've got one that looks almost full size (minnesota midget so full size is small anyway!) & 2 that are between quail egg and hen egg size. Considering I didn't train them up anything, prune them, & have been fairly sporadic with the watering as well as probably in too small a pot I'm quite pleased!
Not sure how to tell when my one melon is ripe though....Another happy Nutter...
