  • Cucumbers in my glass shed

I want to move some cucumbers to my my glass shed at the allotment. The soil in there is pretty poor although I am working on improving it. Rather than plant the cukes in large pots - which I do in the little g/h at home because I can water those twice a day if necessary - I wondered if planting the cucumbers in submerged/buried cardboard boxes full of a mixture of FYM and compost would help with water retention and feeding. Anyone tried this? I would be grateful for advice. If no-one has ever tried this, I might do it with a couple of cukes ... just to see

Sorry Susieq, not tried this but would be very interested on seeing the results. Experiments are always useful.

And your hands begin to harden.
You will find yourself a partner,
In the glory of the garden.
