  • Feeding fruit trees that are in containers

Ive given up and put my fruit trees into containers, but I was wondering, how often do you feed them when they are in pots, also when do I stop?

    thanks guys

I use slow release in most of my pots as I am rubbish at liquid feeding. I really noticed the difference when I started using it.

I put BFB around them when planting out, years ago I used to use bonemeal which is also good. I give all my flowers & fruits sulphur of potash early spring. This year I'm watering with seaweed but usually I use a tomato feed about once a month when they have fruit on them, potassium helps fruit & flowers, nitrogen for leaves, look for the NPK ratio on fertilisers.
Edit to add that I stop feeding them once I've picked the fruits to let them stop being so active.

blood, fish and bone in march, then when fruits are growing I feed tomato food once a month and a handful of bonemeal onto the surface of the compost(john innes No3) in the autumn, seems to work okay...
