  • Grow bag time again

It's time I start thinking about grow bags.
I normally need 12 and three large bags of compost.
    I quick surf and I see :

    Homebase £1.99 33L
    B&Q £2.00 27L
    Wicks £3.99 38L

Anyone seen cheaper Aldi, Lidl ??
I suspect at the Bank Hol there will be discounts.
Perhaps this should be a "sticky" item ?

Is this for the planter grow bags? Theres other deals too if you buy in bulk, wicks are doing 70L bags mpc (4 for £15) so 280L for £15 or peat free in slightly smaller bags 60L 4 for £15,these planters are more expensive giving 152L for £15.96 or £3.99 each although it might be a better quality, but all composts seem ok when you get a bargain.

I don't use grow bags but last season I saw those Homebase grow bags. One was split open and the compost looked really good. I bought 10 still have 5 left and was very pleased. If its the same this year I will get a few more at 6p a litre I won't complain.

Vix! It's aimed at the Verve peat free fruit and vegetable growing bag, not the Verve compost which I think you have in mind.

They just say that the compost within the afore mentioned grow bag is so chronically low in nitrates and magnesium and far to high in potassium to give any plant a fighting chance to thrive, and yes I like the Verve compost too, and always comes highly recommended by Gardening Which

The Verve sowing and cutting compost and multipurpose are both Which best buys for 2016.

Don't buy was Gro-Sure Peat-free All Purpose Compost with Four-month Feed. I couldn't see a listing for growbags though.

The grow bag review is in the current March 2016 Magazine.

Don't know why it's the wrong way....

This link has some compost info from the Jan/Feb magazine. Interesting Levingtons has been reformulated & is now doing well.

Hi Jimmy, if you have any good friends who are a member off Costco, there Westfield Compost sells at £7.18 a bag 70Ltr, but towards the end of this month it goes on offer 3 for 2, a great buy. Cheers John
