What is the best way to utilize used tea leaves in the garden? Can they be added to a peat based potting mix? Or is there some other use for them in the garden?

Unfortunately I don't have room in the garden for a compost heap so I gather I should add the leaves to the soil mix. Incidentally doesn't anyone use real tea leaves nowadays? It seems that the horrible American invention of tea bags has taken over.Comment

Mine go in the kitchen waste caddie and then into a wormery which is in a dustbin.Comment

If you happen to grow roses or camellias, just chuck the leaves and any left over tea (a rarity in my house) under the bushes as a mulch. They love it. Probably 'cos they are related to the tea camellia.Location - Leicestershire - Chisit-land

I compost mine, I do occasionally come across what looks like a fine plastic mess which I believe comes from teabags. Never heard of a use for tea leaves on there own maybe flowers are the answerComment

My Gran used to chuck the teapot dregs out at the bottom of a rose bush. She used to call it her 'Tea' rose.
It always seemed to flower well so it must have done some good!
