  • Greenhouse gutter - help needed!

    Hi there,

Last season I acquired a free greenhouse, second hand that needed a some panes and the door seals replacing and this is the guttering:

I have been looking online for some way of connecting up a water collection system, but there is no identifier as to brand and any guttering kits I find tend to have this profile: l__l

I noted yesterday that the water dripping off the end is starting to affect the soil below, there are holes developing on the corners so I need to start thinking seriously about what to do.

    Any ideas on manufacturer?

Do you know of anything that will fit the profile I have per the photo?

    Thanks for any advice!

I've used fibreglass and narrow plastic piping to make gutter outlets. Available from any motor diy shop

You could make a rain chain out of plant pots and chain/plastic washing line and divert the rain ro where you want it (e.g. Water butt, soakaway)

I found a piece of lead sheet a couple of inches square and managed to fashion it into a spout - which sticks out far enough to then get something underneath it (I have a length of gutter slung across the back of my greenhouse, with the lower end emptying into a water butt - very Heath Robinson!)

All great suggestions, thanks! The idea of fashioning something out of lead/fibreglass (I was considering moulding from putty as I have some) to fit the odd profile are great, not sure the kits on the other link would work tho without moderation....

Any ideas on the brand by the way?

When we had the lottie we had an old shed with corrugated roof and a rusty iron gutter. I tied salvaged plastic guttering to it and attached a down spout end to fill a 1000lr tank. It didn't look pretty but it worked.
