  • jostaberries any one grow them

are they too similar to blackcurrents what do they taste like, I know they are a gooseberry cross

I looked into them a bit back, I understand they're like a big blackcurrant but the plants can get huge.

Some of us live in the past, always talking about back then. Some of us live in the future, always planning what we are going to do. And, then there are those, who neither look behind or ahead, but just enjoy the moment of right now.

Which one are you and is it how you want to be?

I've got one - they look like black gooseberries, but taste like sharp blackcurrants

Quite nice though!!! Huge plants and the berries grow like goosegogs, singly.

As has been said, they're like bigger blackcurrants. Very easy to propagate from cuttings which is handy as they grow so fast that you need to keep cutting them back.

I grow them, have bushes in since 2010, they get big quickly and produce good crops, much bigger crops than black currants, good for making jam , you won't need to many plants though

All this talk about Jostaberry, guess what I did yesterday? Yes bought one, was a bargain! (Was half price)

The birds don't seem to very interested in them, maybe too sharp a taste? ( my FIL) grows them)
