My redcurrant bush is approx 4 years old. The first two years it produced fruit in abundance however last years crop was considerably smaller and this year only 1 bunch of berries!! I feed and water it well ...can't understand why it isn't producing fruit. Any ideas?

Hello, yes, I have pruned it each year, will try and post a picture. Have just read that they will fruit on wood up to 3 years old. I am wondering if thats what's wrong. Maybe I didn't prune it back far enough! Thanks for your help.Last edited by Blue Lavender; 16-06-2014, 08:18 PM.

Reply to Heated mat for Tom's and chilliesby raryI use a mix of six scoops of compost three scoops of sand/grit and two scoops of perlite, the quantity is unimportant as long as the ratio is the same, if for seeds I use this mix, if I am potting on I add some blood, fish and bone, along with a small quantity of chicken manure pellets
