    What to do, What to do?

    Ive got this bit of the fence that all the crap that is next door comes through. I don't want to handle any of it if possible as I know there is rats in there but not sure of anything else. Also I know there is glass etc I dont really fancy a trip to the A&E.
    The thing is all of their nettles comes through constantly! Im wanting to clear this part of my garden and put some flowers in there but Im unsure what to do about the fence bit, Should I shovel the soil up to meet the fence so its kinda blocking it? Should I put some bricks there or rocks?
    I don't use any type of sprays or well anything really in the garden so looking for the cheapest possible solution.


    Any ideas guys?

    Can you dig down a bit at the base of the fence and nail some boards across it to stop anything coming through the gaps? Then put the soil back in place against it and plant it.

      ^^^that would be my suggestion too and to get some batton and go over the gaps with it.

      Failing that, is the next door property council, housing association or private ?

        I agree with the above, dig down a couple of inch and fasten some horizontal boards. Scaffold boards would be ideal as they would last a long time & are deep.

          You can get very inexpensive plastic lawn edging from a cheapo shop which would do the same thing, light and easily transportable..........hammer down gently to create a barrier.

            Underneath is concrete or brick, think its the foundations from the little raised bed area. Im going to pick some soil up on thursday to fill it all in as its only about a inch deep of soil atm.
