Hello all.
Instructions on seed packets always say to transplant brassicas into 'firm ground' - so what constitutes firm ground? The bed i want to use for my brassicas this season is one i made 'lasagne' style last September with layers of card, straw, manure, leafmould etc. It's all rotted down nicely, but it still feels very light and spongy. Will it be too 'soft' for large brassicas such as cauliflowers and psb? Should i gently tread down the whole bed using a plank or something before i start transplanting?
