Maybe a silly question , but if you don't ask ? I have a new allotment and the privet hedge is a first for me , is it ok to put the smaller green clippings in the compost bin,, my gut feeling is yes , I will be leaving the compost for at least 2 years before I use it and it will contain a fair amount of cow manure /hen manure , plus all the other usual waste .

Yes privet and other deciduous leaves are excellent for compost.
Conifers and the like aren't.Pain is still pain, suffering is still suffering, regardless of whoever, or whatever, is the victim.
Everything is worthy of kindness.

Been hoping for free p&p, missed out a few weeks ago - we were in Cyprus, where we saw some 'Fernleaf' lavender. Looks really nice. So I thought I'd look for some plugs/plants when we got back.
