  • My new poly tunnel - want to share my good fortune

Hi - I am new to this site and its great to read all the great hints and tips. I recently bought a poly tunnel from a company called Haygrove. My husband put ours together and once I've charged my camera up I will post a pic of it. What was pleasing was the price. I saw it for £765 on the website but got it for £595inc delivery! I am so pleased! The tunnel with the potting table was £864 on the website and I got one included. They were really great on the phone and I cannot complain about any of the service. I just wanted to share this with you all - I hope you don't mind!

I was thinking about a greenhouse but my children are young and I was worried about the glass. Who else has a poly tunnel and what veggies should I start off growing? I've only planted flower seedlings so far!
    Knowledge comes, but wisdom lingers.

Welcome, lots of stuff about poly tunnels on here, I have a small one and a green house and I find the poly more pleasant to work and hide in. However you need not have worried about the glass with children most green houses have either polycarb or safety glass nowadays.Where are the pics, i love pics.

          Me, me!

Hi Annie, I'm very much a newbie too, both to polytunnels and this site. I have a thread somewhere about my polytunnel if you fancy a nose. It's not a posh 'proper' one but it's still a tunnel.

I've just started getting seeds planted a few days ago, I'm not sure my timings are very accurate but hey ho.

What do you fancy growing in your tunnel? I've had to curb my plans somewhat for now at least due to possible future changes in our circumstances but I've sown seeds for tomatoes, cucumbers, courgettes, dwarf french beans, a mini patio chilli thing (that didn't grow the last time I tried it so I'm not expecting much this time either), some basil, coriander and I can't remember what else right now. I also have rosemary, thyme and oregano that I cheated with and bought as small plants but they seem to like the tunnel a lot as they have just grown like crazy and they look really healthy.

Mutt and I just like being in the tunnel if I'm honest, there's something very calming and just plain nice about being in there.

This is a good site for tips and banter, there's a lot of friendly people here so hope you stick around.

As the OP was posted a month ago, I'm a tad confused as to why we haven't had an update..............commission maybe?

Maybe it's because she thought no-one was speaking to her?

If no-one had replied to me when I first came here I think I'd just have slunk off again.

I'm sure you would have found time to browse other posts though - not just disappear the same day!!

Maybe the new tunnel collapsed on her.
