    yellow speckled leaves?!?!

    Ooh, been ages since I've been here!

    I have been really successful in raising five very healthy looking pumpkin seedlings indoors on a windowsill. One of them however has yellow speckles all over two of its large leaves and I'm not sure what it is and therefore what I can do to get rid of it. I am feeding them with a general tomato feed and the others look fine. Is is deficient in something? Any ideas?

    How many leaves do your plants have? If they're still small, the sickly one could be suffering from waterlogging or maybe too cold. Are they all in the same place? Seems strange if you have several plants in the same situation and only one is suffering. You don't normally start feeding pumpkins etc until they are planted out and fruiting.

      5 of our goast rider pumpkings whent like that I thought it was cos we let them get too tall and they got wind damaged
      sadly all 5 have gone only 5 left they are looking fine or was yesterday going to have a look today fingers crosed cos we got no more goast rider seeds left
      Some things in their natural state have the most VIVID colors

        I've had loads of problems this year with both courgettes and squashes. over half of my plants have either died off first going yellow then shriveling or the main stems seem to have collapsed and gone really thin and twisted. Some of the stem problem plants are still going and appear to be fine but i'm not sure how they are still alive! Any ideas as to what causes either of these problems would be very welcome, thanks.

            I guess it could be either Flummery, I've been struggling with the weather and working out how much to water etc. I lost plants to lack of water so I may well have gone the other way and over watered to compensate

              red spider mites can also cause these effects that you have described- that is what happened to my plants when they were indoors- i just put them outside and the problems have gone, it set the plant back abit but they will be ok. Have a look on the leaves and stems for these critters- the winter was too kind on them this year- they seem to be earlier and more numerous this year.

              Try sowing some more outside- and in different soil- you still have plenty of time to get a great strong plant in and a good harvest.
