Hello everyone,
Here in the GYO office we love to see and hear about your allotment plots and are currently looking for the best ones to feature in future issues of the magazine. If your allotment site has an interesting back story or things that you think makes it special, please post here and you could be featuring in 'plot of the month'.
Looking forward to seeing and hearing about all of your lovely plots!

......There's been a kitchen there since I've been a member and although it had been checked and had a 3 star certificate it was inadequate in some respects so last summer the social committee decided that they would use some of the money raised by social events on site to make some improvements. We sealed the roof and floor of the kitchen area. Put in new cupboards, sink, worktops etc. Bidded and bought a proper cooker (gas cylinder one) , rewired(we run power from a generator) , fitted a water heater for hand washing , painted etc. All labour was donated by lottie members and also a lot of materials used. The site then bought a proper wood burner to save everything getting ruined from woodsmoke as the old fire was just a converted oil drum .
