    Silly me! I have managed to sun scorch...

    Hi everyone

    I don't seem to have a natural GYO instinct. Today, I left my young pepper and chilli plants (each has 3/4 pairs of proper leaves) in my plastic 3 tier greenhouse. I went out and left it zipped up. Now, the new leaves on some of them are dry, dark and crispy. Have I lost them forever? Should I bin and quick seed some more? Or is there home?

    CADS, you keep beating yourself up. It is all about experiance.

    Can't see from here so difficult to say. It doesn't sound good tho. sow afew more and see if you can save the best of the rest cut the top leaves of and see if they resprout from the leaf nodes as they tend to do? fingers crossed.

      I lost a tray of lettuce seedlings yesterday. They were in the greenhouse and when I got home from work they looked very sad, flat and crisp In my defence I was at work all day, the doors and windows had all been left open and I had watered them before I went. ) Will be keeping all the lettuce outside from now on when i'm not here to "babysit"

        You might get away with it CADS. If they are a bit crispy at the edge they could still shoot new leaves. Don't despair (but have another ready, Blue Peter style!)

          Thanks everyone

          They look a lot better this morning, panic over.

          I have far to many because my husband mixed them up. I can't tell the difference between the pepper and chilli plants so have landed up with more chilli plants than I wanted. I have sown more pepper seeds, just in case. Don't mind losing some of the chilli ones.

            We are still trying to get through the chillies from two years ago!

            It is so difficult to keep on top of things in small pots at this time of year.
