  • Well the final seeds have been sowed...hows everyone else doing

Well I sowed my final seeds for a while today.

Although I was well ahead as far as toms, peppers and aubs went I fell frantically behind on other things.

    Got the following in today

    Courgettes
    Runner/French climbing Beans
    Tad more Lettuce
    Cabbage tree
Herbs (other than parsley had 0 germination from the ones i did 6 weeks ago which was weird)

Will be putting a few quick carrotts and spring onions in here and there but thats about me for the year.

Anyone think I have wated my time on any of those?

What have you all got left to do or run late on?

I've got 1 more lot of baby beets to go in, some bite size carrots that I want to try and some more fennel...then I'm done sowing seeds until July (cabbages to sow then - Durham Earlies iirc).

Everything seems to be progressing well so far.

I've not started my carrots yet (it's been too cold), nor my winter brassicas (greenhouse was too full with delayed Other Stuff)

On a roll now, just out of time because of the Planting Out Backlog, and the additional watering that's needed with all these 100s of seedlings in the hot heatwave

I've finally finished digging/weeding the bed where I'm putting spinach, rocket, and salad leaves, so those will go in shortly. Planning to put in another round of peas this weekend. I still have kale and perpetual spinach to put in when I get space sorted out, and various herbs and flowers yet to go in.

All the indoor seedlings are looking good, though - I'm amazed at the growth rate of runners and sweet peas. And all of my winter squash seeds germinated. No idea where they're going to live!

I'll be sowing some more French Beans this weekend, the ones sown 2 or 3 weeks ago have failed to germinate, then I'm not sure until I look in the seed box and that's got to be after I've re-evaluated the space I've got!
